Kris Kadas was trying to help a friend out when he took a job behind the counter at The Grilled Cheese.
A buddy of his had become manager at the Kensington Market restaurant in April and she was looking to hire. Kadas thought it seemed like a good opportunity – he had a resume filled with kitchen experience.
Months later that enthusiasm has turned to regret.
Kadas claims he is owed $856.75 in unpaid wages. The amount, he says, is part of a total somewhere in the thousands collectively owed to a handful of workers, who Kadas says were often paid in cash.
Kadas has repeatedly asked for the owed money and still hasn’t received any payment.
