Flash Flooding Causing Delays in Toronto

Toronto, ON, Canada / Talk Radio AM640

The thunderstorms only lasted for an hour but thanks to that afternoon rainfall several low lying areas are experiencing flooding. Lower Simcoe Street Underpass was flooded so quickly that a cab full of passengers had to be rescued.

Fire Captain Mike Strapko says crews are responding to several small incidents of flooding related problems, but no serious injuries.

Several small pockets of the city are also without power. Toronto Hydro is actively working to restore power.
